Oversize vehicles on E-470 are those vehicles meeting the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) definition of oversize orextra-legal vehicles. Any oversize vehicle requesting to travel on E-470 is required to have an approved E-470 Single-Trip Road Permit. E-470 is not a designated HAZMAT route.

Oversize vehicles on E-470 are those vehicles meeting the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) definition of oversize orextra-legal vehicles. Any oversize vehicle requesting to travel on E-470 is required to have an approved E-470 Single-Trip Road Permit. E-470 is not a designated HAZMAT route.
E-470 Single-Trip Road Permit Requirements
- Allow 48 business hours for permit process.
- Single-Trip Road Permits are processed Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- E-470’s office will not review permits on weekends or State recognized holiday.
- Applications received after 3:00 p.m. are not guaranteed to be processed on the same business day.
- E-470’s office must be in receipt of a completed Single-Trip Road Permit.
- The vehicle’s ExpressToll sticker number is required on the application.

- The assigned CDOT Transport Permit number is required on the application.

Requirements of Oversize Vehicles to Travel on E-470
- Must carry approved E-470 Single-Trip Road Permit while travelling E-470.
- Oversize vehicles may not travel on E-470 during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and during inclement weather.
- Pilot car required for a vehicle 12’ wide and over.
- Oversize vehicles unable to maintain a minimum speed of 50 mph must travel between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
- A lowboy must be used to transport heavy construction equipment.
- Depending on the weight displacement of the vehicle and the load, E-470 may require a detailed description of axle configuration and weight.
